Coinciding with Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the Biker Down nonprofit organization that offers an array of assistance to motorcycle accident victims. Biker Down was Founded in 2011 by biker Laurie Easton-Montoya who was on a ride when several bikers went down. After some research, Laurie soon realized there wasn’t a dedicated organization in existence to provide fundraising and support for these bikers, so she started one herself.

Biker Down supplies emotional support to the injured rider or family members a killed rider, medical equipment, and financial assistance and advice to help victims keep creditors at bay as the motorcyclist recovers.

How it Works – “We rely on volunteers, sponsors, and members to sustain our mission.” Says Easton-Montoya

After a motorcycle accident, your life can forever change due to injuries, loss of a job, loss of home, and more. Biker Down aims to minimize these losses and help riders and their families manage whatever changes come their way after a motorcycle accident.

Did You Know? Nearly 20% of all motorcycle crashes are caused by a motorist violating the motorcyclist’s right-of-way.
